Today is the Sesame Street character, Ernie's birthday! Sesame Street was one of my favorite childhood shows. Young children all over the world have learned how to read and count by watching Sesame Street. The show was where many famous characters like Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, and Elmo have been created.

If you could create a television show for kids, what type of a show would it be? What is its name? What could kids learn by watching this show?

Like Ernie is a character on Sesame Street, what characters would you have on your show? You may want to include the monster you created a few months ago in class!

I am UNIQUE!

This week, 3P and our buddies in 1V will be kicking off our celebration of International Day at SBS by looking at the countries our relatives and ancestors were born in. After talking to our families, we've learned that we are very unique, in that we come from many different countries. Many of our parents and grandparents were even born in other countries! Having a diverse or special background makes each one of us UNIQUE! We are "one-of-a-kind" and we should celebrate our heritage!

Besides having a wonderful, international background, what else makes you unique? What is something that makes you special? Do you have a special talent? Do you have an interest that not many other people have? What makes you different from other people in a wonderful, special way?

We've Earned Our Marble Party!

After months of hard work and dedication, 3P has filled the marble jar! As you all know, our marble jar is called the "R Jar". The "R" stands for two words: Respect and Responsibility. Boys and girls in 3P have earned all of those marbles for being respectful and responsible in our classroom, in the halls, and in specials. Other teachers have also noticed your behavior and remind me how respectful and responsible you can be!

To fill the jar again, students will need to continue to act appropriately in class, and make good decisions throughout the day.

What are the best ways to earn marbles in class? What will you do to make sure our class keeps earning marbles and fills the jar again? When do you think 3P will fill the jar again?
